Jenna Derosa Counselor and Therapist, CCTP

Jenna Derosa

Licensed Professional Counselor

My name is Jenna DeRosa and I hope to be trusted in working with you as you start your journey of growth and healing. Since working in outpatient mental health programs almost 10 years ago, I quickly found my passion in connecting with others. As I've worked as a therapist, I have brought my past experience in these programs and my continued education to form a foundation for the work and connection that I provide to all of my clients. At the core of the foundation that I've built is human connection, transparency, and inclusion.

My Approach:

I believe that an integrative approach best fits therapy for myself and my clients. I believe that therapy does not allow for a “one size fits all” approach. By working with my clients, collaboratively we can find an approach that best fits you. Approaches that I bring into the therapy room are; psychodynamic, CBT, client centered, emotion focused, DBT, and trauma informed.

My Experience:

Over my time in connecting with clients, I have found myself drawn to working through trauma with individuals. I primarily work with teenagers, young adults, and adult women. Together we work through a number of issues including; sexual trauma, codependency, domestic violence, physical abuse, emotional abuse, self-esteem and more. I feel an immense amount of privilege in working with clients who have felt unable to disclose prior trauma that they have experienced. Allowing individuals to feel safe and encouraged to dive into this work is what I hope to be able to provide.

In working through trauma, I became certified to provide Brainspotting. I found that this technique fits my style of therapy that I provide. It provides for trauma processing that is flexible and a client centered approach. While using meditative and relaxation techniques, this process allows for people to reprocess their trauma in a safer manner.

What can you expect from me as a therapist?
  1. An open and honest space with clients. By providing full transparency on both my end and on my clients end, it can help to build the therapeutic relationship.
  2. An opportunity to bring laughter into the room. Humor can be such a healing tool for clients and can help a client to feel relaxed in an uncomfortable space with a new person.
  3. Encouraging your voice. Not only within the therapy process, but in your real world. I want to create confidence and assurance that you are a part of your process and feel like you have or can find your voice.

At the end of the day, the relationship boils down to connection. Hopefully that we can connect and start your journey of healing.
